ASUU DISMISS RESUMPTION RUMOURS

Yesterday striking University lecturers dismissed as a "rumour" the report that they would soon return to the classrooms.

They insisted that there was no end to the strike until the Federal Government honoured fully an agreement it signed with their umbrella body, the Academic Staff Union of Universities in 2009.

Members of ASUU in Nsukka, Calabar and Benin zones restated their resolve to continue with the industrial action at different briefings on Tuesday.

The Coordinator of the union in Nsukka zone, Dr. Chidi Osuagwu, said the resumption rumour was an embarrassment to ASUU members.

He appealed to the students, parents and guardians to bear with the union, saying they were pursuing a worthy cause to ensure better university system in the country.

He recalled that the union embarked on the strike because of the failure of the Federal Government to implement the 2009 agreement

The statement read, "There is no iota of truth in the report as the government has yet to make any concrete effort to address the issues at stake. The union remains focused and is resolved to carrying on with the struggle to revitalise and reposition university education in Nigeria. Nothing short of full implementation of the agreement and respect for the Memorandum of Understanding of 2009 will be acceptable to the union."

MALAWIAN PRESIDENT KNEELS TO GREET ANOTHER PRESIDENT

Well firstly, she is a woman, a very powerful one i must add. Joyce Hilda Banda is the first female President of Malawi and also in the Southern African region, the 47th most powerful woman in 2013. She was seen kneeling down  to greet the President of Tanzania, Jakaya Kikwete at an official function.

Yes, she is a very powerful woman but she is also very humble and knows when to draw the line between power and humility. I applaud her and I wish all African women could emulate her.

What do you think of this?

PAYPAL ACCIDENTALLY CREDITS MAN'S ACCOUNT WITH $92 QUADRILLION

Chris Reynolds, from Pennsylvania opened his June PayPal e-mail statement, and discovered something was off.

The PR executive's account balance had swelled to a whopping $92,233,720,368,547,800.
That's $92 QUADRILLION and extra.
Money that would make Reynolds who also sells auto parts on eBay in his spare time -- the richest man in the world by a long shot.

Rich, as in more than a million times  more wealthier than Carlos Slim the Mexican and he's worth $67 billion. So he logged online, and reality bit back. His account balance read $0. The correct amount.
PayPal admitted the error and offered to donate an unspecified amount of money to a cause of Reynolds' choice.

"This is obviously an error and we appreciate that Mr. Reynolds understood this was the case," PayPal said in a statement.

Before this incident, the most Reynolds ever made on PayPal was "a little over $1,000" selling a set of vintage BMW tires on eBay.

If you were given this amount of money what will you have done with it? Am curious...

BBA 8: NANDO DISQUALIFIED FROM BIG BROTHER THE CHASE

After the eviction show yesterday which ended with Kenya's Annabel and Zambia's Sulu evicted, Big Brother gathered the housemates and announced the disqualification of Tanzania's Nando.

This was because he instigated a fight between himself amd Ghana's Elikem. Nando also threatened Elikem's life saying Elikem deserved to die. He has also been seen wielding dangerous weapons like a knife, scissors, during their parties and even under his pillow.

I knew there was something about him though, right from the beginning of the show, I just was not feeling his vibes...

TWERKING SYNDROME IN NAIJA... COMING SOON OR LONG GONE?

New Orleans bounce artist Big Freedia's dancers perform during the 2012 Hangout Music Festival on May 20, 2012 in Gulf Shores, Alabama. (Erika Goldring/Getty)

It is said to have originated from strip clubs in general. It is a dance move which involves rolling (abi is it twisting) the  ass, waist and hips in a sexually suggestive way then bouncing it up and down... Dont laugh its not that funny**lol.

I have seen so many of this twerking videos online with everybody T-W-E-R-K-I-N-G from normal people to celebrities like Miley Cyrus to Nikki Minaj even Coco, wife of rapper/reality TV star, Ice-T, etcetera. American rapper, Busta Rhymes even realeased a song about it. It is really serious.

Everyone is twerking off seriously even those that do not have anything to twerk but i dont know if this dance has reached Naija and if it has then who started this moves first?... I dont know o that is why am asking.

Here is a video of this sensational dance moves to help you understand me better.

I also spot peer pressure here ( you know that awkard situation where you have to do exactly what your friends say you should do because maybe they have placed a bet on something) stuffs like that sha.

Yes we all know his still young and all that but he should try as much as possible to curb his bad behaviours and try to be humble. He was also reported to have spat on a DJ's face and even urinated in a mop bucket( ok... that I can excuse he might have been so pressed... but come on, you are better than this).

WHERE IS THE LOVE IN OUR HEARTS?

I am still pondering about this really disturbing issue o. Why do people still disturb themselves over matters that are obviously way passed them?

When  people fight , its obvious something transpired between them directly or in directly. This also applies to someone who accuses another of an offence or crime. Well God will continue to fight for his children because of his love. Please do not fight God's battle for him let alone your own battles his is more than able to do so for us and himself.

When you have nothing to hide, you need not fear when trials and tribulations come your way because you know God will always fight for you.

Besides, when in contention with people or someone  its always easier or better to listen to the other person's side of the story. For instance, you get really upset after you noticed Mr Adam's gabbage bin on your lawn... after accussing Mr Adam of littering your lawn with filth you then later realize that it turned out to be one of Mr. Adam's children or Mr.Adam's wife, what would you do then?

No matter how much hurt or pain you feel after a conflict has arisen, it is always good to hear one another out through dialogue... it would really go a long way.

Granted it hurts and you feel the pains but just try and give peace a chance it cures alot of aches trust me... To err is human to forgive is divine or am i wrong?

I know you all know what I am talking about **winks.

FASHION:PETITE MODELLING, WHAT DO YOU THINK?

Cooking could be difficult atimes... Am in the kitchen trying to cook up dinner for myself and then am thinking at the same time how difficult it is to bring up a fashion topic here and then it comes to me... Petite people in fashion especially as models  and how laughable some people at this era still thinks it is.

This tends to be a really sensitive topic in the fashion industry and also on social media. I have read blogs by other people on this topic, seen and even experienced it first hand. It has dashed the hope of so many aspiring models both male and female.

In Nigeria the case isn't so different either since we copy western culture so its not entirely our fault. I strongly believe in change and it comes with reorientation.

Moreover more than 50% of real everyday people are mostly petite (ranging between 4'9 - 5'7) and they also love to wear fashionable clothes, so why can't people of that size market or model the clothes first hand for customers to see? Just wondering?

Well, thank God that there are different types of modelling when it comes to fashion and someone aspiring to become a model just needs to know their specifications before deciding where the fall into.

Believe me petite people or models are always beautiful, confident, edgy and classy.
WORD - You don't have to be a model to be self confident.
