VARIOUS RIVER PORTS TO BE CONCESSIONED IN 2014
I remember asking my dad some days ago about the maritime sector and its effects on the country's economy and the report he gave me was not quite encouraging but am glad the story could be changed for the better in no time.
Great news for all business men and women out there especially my Igbo brothers and sisters in the maritime industry. The minister of transport, Idris Umar, has said that the Onitsha, Oguta, Baro and Lokoja River Ports would be concessioned next year.
The minister said this during an interview with a Europe correspondent of the News Agency of Nigeria in London.
However, these ports will be concessioned to private operators after completion and inauguration.
What can I say?... I can already see good things happening in Nigeria. At least Lagos would become less crowded...
Many thanks to the Nigerian government for their unrelenting efforts in trying to diversify its economy. Please do not leave Warri out...lol.
